We are a self-organized collective of educators based in Athens formed in the fall of 2019.
We perceive education as an anti-authoritarian process, we want to go beyond the “teacher and students” model and would like to see processes with facilitators and participants instead, with as little hierarchy as possible.
We explore radical pedagogy in theory and in action, we experiment with concepts, tools and methods. We want to share our practices with others and be inspired by others too.
Education for us is not neutral, it’s political. We want our pedagogy to reflect the changes we want to see in society. We want to address, through learning, hierarchies present between individuals in our spaces as well as structural hierarchies such as racism, sexism, homophobia and classism. We want to link our learning processes with existing local or global struggles.
We want to initiate and facilitate learning processes that are accessible for anyone. We want to make extra effort to make our activities available to marginalized groups that are given less access to education.
We understand that because we live in an oppressive society, we might reproduce oppressive behaviour unconsciously. We want to reflect on ourselves and our collective first, so that our actions can be a substantive challenge to the hierarchies that produce oppression within society.
